One of my favorite places in the city is Bemelmans Bar in the Carlyle Hotel. It's right across from the gallery and has a drink named after Ms. Carrie Bradshaw that is absolutely to die for. I went there last year with my Aunt and Uncle for drinks and have been going fairly regularly with them this summer too. The waiter's wear white jackets, the piano guy is amazing, and the paintings on the wall are great. The paintings are actually done by Ludwig Bemelmans who was the author and illustrator of the Madeline books. Wassup, I love art.
"The first week at Augusts was a consolation, a pure relief. The world will give you that once in awhile, a brief time-out; the boxing bell rings and you go to your corner, where somebody dabs mercy on your beat-up life."
I started this blog so that when I interned in New York, I wouldn't have to call my parents. Two years later, I moved from home to New Orleans and learned that my parents don't know how to "get to my page." I am so sure.
