I only have 2 days of babysitting left. I'm really excited to be going to NY, but I am really sad to leave the little people.
I'm going to miss Granison and all of his funny little sayings. He has this amazing ability of storing things that people say and repeating them back to people correctly. He is a genius.
"This means that we are bestest friends!"
I WILL MISS THAT FACE.
I will also miss fajita night, making fun of golf, marg night, wine night and making Amanda listen to alllllll my problems, "sketti" night, coffee talk with Susu, being "THE BOSS", pot roast night, the freshly made morning coffee, THE MACARENA, and being able to DVR all of my favorite shows. Okay, I'm dramatic. I will be back in six weeks.
And then, Hays and I walked around the neighborhood and I taught him how to throw up the peace sign to all of the neighbors. Straight gangster. You can thank me later, Amanda!
1. Master my cab hailing ability. 2. Participate in protest. 3. Visit the Frick Collection 4. Eat a cupcake from Magnolia Bakery. 5. Pinkberry. Everyday. 6. Learn something about art and all that jazz. This should probably be my number one. 7. Go see the Sex and the City movie in the city! 8.OH MY GOD TWO BIRDS JUST FLEW INTO THE WINDOW HEART ATTACK
My older brother, Gregory, graduated from Ole Miss on Saturday! He has finally earned his MBA after a year of lots of studying. I am quite proud, but I still wish that he was a TIGER.
The School of Business graduates...they called every person's name. Gregory got called like fourth out of four hundred or so. ZZZ.
"I can finally say that I am the master of something."
And then, we celebrated. The good news was that the bars were pretty cool, Gregory's friends were nice, and sirens go off to tell you that a tornado is coming! The bad news is that Oxford is located in the Bible Belt which means that the bars close at midnight. (Because after that everyone who is out is going to hell.)
So, I haven't mentioned three very important people that I know. I guess that I haven't mentioned them because if you know me, then you probably already know alllllllll about Hays, Granison, and baby Eleanor. I cannot help but talk/brag about them a little bit. They are just so darn cute. And they are absolutely hilarious. Big talker? Nope, I can totally back this up.
Exhibit A:
So fabulous!
Exhibit B:
So silly.
Exhibit C:
Aww! As Haysie would say, "this means that we are best friends!"
So, I've been trying to learn more about Union Square for the following reasons: a) I will be spending six glorious weeks in NYU's Carlyle dorm that is located there, and b) I hope to appear somewhat hip and knowledgeable when I arrive (unlikely). Anyway, I discovered NYU Local, and I credit it for much of my growing excitement. While browsing the site, I have learned that Union Square has had a "Silent Rave" and a protest in just the last few weeks. BEST. NEWS. EVER.
So what exactly is a silent rave you ask? If you didn't click my convienent little link (agonizing HTML) up there, I will tell you alllll about it. A "Silent Rave" is when a group of people gather together and dance to whatever music they'd like. Imagine! A group of complete strangers, complete with headphone and ipods, walkmen, or whatever, dancing around in silence! Besides, a "Silent Rave" sounds a lot easier than protesting.
Anyway, since my dorm is located in Union Square, I think that I will pretty much be the luckiest girl in the whole world. I only have six weeks in this big, big city, and I am so excited that I will be able to walk out of my dorm and think, "I wonder what Union Square is going to hold for me today? Maybe a pillow fight?"
I started this blog so that when I interned in New York, I wouldn't have to call my parents. Two years later, I moved from home to New Orleans and learned that my parents don't know how to "get to my page." I am so sure.
