macaroons, y'all

macaroons are the new cupcakes, npr says so. they sure are pretty to look at, but i don't know if i even like macaroons so that was it, i had to go to sucre to try them out.
sarah and her gelato.
it was a lovely afternoon. we read music magazines, talked about boys, and our new love of new orleans and exploring it, of gelato and macaroons. diva-vine.

small victories

yesterday was the absolute perfect way to end the month of february, WHICH RULED. the weather was perfect AND we got furniture for our porch AND all of the roommates were actually home AND sarah and lorraine came over AND we drank wine AND laughed until we cried. (chatroulette is real funny, y'all)
i hope that march is even better.

silver and gold
I have definitely couldn't have survived this cold weather, new city, and break up without my two new ladies, Sarah and Lorraine. Nothing better than parades, endless wandering, flirting, laughing, purses of beer, socks for gloves, girl talk, and watching the bachelor! So very greatful to have made such great new friendships so soon!

Roomie's Art Show
Roommate Rachael had an art show at Loa last week. Loa is quite swanky, her art is fabulous, and I had a blast. Rachael studied print making at LSU, but also paints and such. I used to go visit her in the print making lab when we were in school together and it is turning out to be a treat to get to watch her paint at our apartment. I know that she is dying for the weather to cheer up so that she can take her easel outside and paint on our balcony.

On unemployment...

"This is the best thing to wear for today, you understand. Because I don't like women in skirts and the best thing is to wear pantyhose or some pants under a short skirt, I think. Then you have the pants under the skirt and then you can pull the stockings up over the pants underneath the skirt. And you can always take off the skirt and use it as a cape. So I think this is the best costume for today. "

Unemployment makes me feel a little bit like the Edies.
Okay. It's not that bad, but unemployment coupled with no washer and dryer...
It's a slippery slope, y'all.

Cabs are expensive.
At least we take them.

Super fun night in New Orleans with Nurse Heather and Mama Rachael. "VIP" @ Republic, dancing fools @ Mod Night, Slumber party in the pink room. Highlights include: singing Tegan and Sara to our (one of many) cab driver, Jello shots, a fight between three girls over one slice of pizza in the cab, polar bears for dogs, callin' bryan, pretending to be a taxi driver...the list could go one and on. Love you, ladies!
